Inspiration for a project build can come in many different ways: an athlete, an influencer, your surroundings and of course—the Internet. Alex Fishburn drew his inspiration from many different sources when he decided to start a project that begins with the good folks at Kibbetech, specifically Kibbe’s Corporate Cruiser. Alex also drew in inspiration from LSK and the truck builds they’ve been involved in. Mix that in with content coming from Terracrew and you have Alex’s 2013 Toyota Tundra.

“The truck started off as a tow pig for a Cummins powered linked FJ40 crawler that I did some years back.” Alex says. “I ended up selling it to fund the Tundra build and have no regrets. I daily drove it for a year or two, but now it only gets taken out for trips or weekends to cut down on the wear and tear of commuting.”

Starting with the exterior, Alex’s Tundra is rocking a Fish Built front bumper, rear hitch bumper and bed cage. Alex opted for our tried and true 701 wheels from the Trail Series family and has them wrapped in Toyo MT tires. He originally had 305 wheels on the truck, that is until the new line of Bead Grip technology wheels came out and was sold. Alex explains, “I’d been avoiding beadlocks for convenience and DOT reasons, but still wanted to air down further in certain situations. The Method 701s filled that need perfectly so that’s what I run now and I couldn’t be happier, they’re the perfect ‘best of both worlds’.”

Stopping power comes through a Stoptech Performance brake kit. Diving into suspension, Alex went with LSK Suspension +4.5 Long travel paired with an assortment of King parts. In the light department Alex added Baja Designs’ LP9 Pros, Amber XL80 combo and Amber Squadron wide. Alex says, “My favorite part of the truck has to be the look of the fiberglass with the wheel and tire combo. The big meaty Toyos with the all black Methods, all stuffing into the wide fiberglass fenders just satisfies that childish desire for a Prerunner, it at least looks the part. The LSK front suspension was such a performance game changer though, so I feel like I need to add that to the list of favorites too, it was a completely different truck after I got that kit installed.”

Alex’s next step for the Tundra is to get it caged and linked, but for now he’s enjoying the truck as it is. Who knows what sort of inspiration he’s giving out to future truck builders. Alex's Toyota Tundra is equipped with 701 Trail Series wheels. Learn more about the wheel below.
